Glenister McCreedie was never a lucky man.

Imprisoned for a crime he never committed, deserted by the woman he loved and betrayed by his own family.

His bad luck seems to be running out when he is released early from prison and finds a job on the railroads.

But it doesn’t last long.

First he gets into a fight with a man who turns up dead.

Then, while still on the run, his train is held up by his own brother’s gang.

Then he somehow manages to offend the railroad boss’ daughter, the beautiful Elizabeth.

With the fates out to get him, Glen has to use all his wits and strength to take control of his own destiny.

Will that be enough to see him through, or will his past catch up with him before he gets a chance?

Quick on the Draw is a hard fighting story of the Old West, where lives were cheap and danger was great.

Praise for Gordon Landsborough

'A punchy tale coupled with plenty of action - an engaging read!' - Philip McCormac, bestselling western author

Writing tales about the exploits of gun-toting cowboys fighting out on the arid sands of the Wild West, Landsborough was himself a pioneering in the English paperback publishing world of the 1950s. He was widely known amongst his peers as the ‘maverick publishing genius’.

Ouick On The Draw held my attention and provided an insight into the reality of the Western Expansion, providing vivid expanations of the rough times in our nations West. I read the story quickly and enjoyed the main plot. The characters were well developed and I always wanted to read on and prepare myself for Glenister McCreedie's next crazy situation. Alas, our main character was intangled in to many "crazy situations". When I completed the story I wanted to read more about the romance between Glen and Elizabeth; and as a result, the story line could have continued. In all it was an entertaining read because I love reading about this period in United States history.

Quick on the Draw eBook Gordon Landsborough Reviews

Good Western!
Excellent narrative. Good pace, different from many westerns and altogether I enjoyed it. I am a voracious reader of western material as I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Born and raised in small towns used to hunt and fish along the Snake River Valley and drove a 55 Chevrolet pickup all over until I entered the military in 1967 and subsequently went to Vietnam for more fun travel and adventure than I really wanted. I truly hope you are all praying for your military and the Government and all of our leaders in these horrific times. God bless and keep you always
Good story , loved stories from the wild west. I was wondering if this was taken from real stories. I recommend this story to any one who likes stories of the old west.
The story line and characters were ok but I found reading a chore because the author choosed to write the spoken word with very heavy emphasis on slang and accents.
It was an ok story, kinda hard to get accustomed to the way it is written, more of a dime store novel.
A little difficult because it was written in the vernacular, but a good story. Plenty of action and adventure. A regular horse opera.
A extremely excellent book plum full of action and suspense. Well written the plot was good and suspenseful I highly recommend this book to any one who loves the old west as I do.
